Trump’s Speech Receives Positive Approval, Even Across the Aisle

44% of Arizona Democrats Have Positive Reaction

PHOENIX (March 6, 2017) – After President Trump delivered his first address to a Joint Session of Congress we wanted to find out how Arizona voters reacted. The key: we only wanted to get responses from voters who watched.

Arizona voters gave the president a resounding thumbs up. In a survey of 700 active registered Democratic, Republican, Independent and Non-Declared voters across Arizona, based on current active voter registration numbers, Democrats and Republicans were screened so that only ones who watched the address participated in this survey. Among the results:

“The numbers indicate that President Trump clearly hit a home run with his joint session speech to Congress,” said Mike Noble, managing partner and chief pollster at OH Predictive Insights, a Phoenix-based leading behavioral research polling company. “As a Republican when you are getting a thumbs up from 44% of Democrats and 69% of Independents you’re doing something right.”

Individuals also were asked: Does Donald Trump make you feel more optimistic or more pessimistic about the direction the country is headed in over the next few years.March 1st ResultsDemocratIndependentRepublicanToplineMore Optimistic33%57%84%59%More Pessimistic53%32%11%31%Neither/Not Sure14%12%6%10%
